 I remember that just after my mother received the first of the many phone calls that ruined her life, I said to my father when he was coming back from playing tennis: “Hey, why don’t you control your fucking bitch”. He replied to me surprised and enraged, saying how can I dare to talk to him like that, that I had no right to question him, that I should watch my mouth, and that if I continue with that attitude he would teach me some respect.
